Being motivated with your plans sometimes does all the work for you. How do you keep your mood up when dieting?
What makes you go on when you feel you cannot do it anymore?
With a friend doing self assurance therapy and another shopping for clothes just to make sure she fits in anything she might like, I can say my motivational barometer is blocked.
Here’s how I decided to keep myself motivated every day:
1. Weight yourself
First thing in the morning, I weight myself. There is nothing more refreshing than having a true vision of myself. This keeps me aware of my success or failure. It also maps my ‘under construction’ areas; done it every day, it keeps my false impressions away!
2. Have a diet Diary
I keep all my weight loss adventures in an online jurnal which might inspire others some day. I put my goals, my struggles, my exercise programs, every inspirational quote, lyric or message I find it useful.
Reading it makes me realize how important is to keep up the good work and the healthy attitude active.
3. Keep a 10 Commandments Diet note:
- never skip breakfast;
- 4 glasses of water a day to keep the cellulite away;
- never eat sugar, just honey;
- never drink soda;
- never smoke;
- exercise 30 minutes per day;
- have a fruit a day;
- no coffee, unless emergency asks;
- always have a positive attitude;
- never complaint about hunger.
4. Take motivational pictures
I take motivational pictures and place them all over my house. I still have my bikini clad picture in Barcelona which made me begin a new healthy lifestyle, in the first place. I keep it on my fridge, as a warning image of what my body would look like if regaining the 15 kilos I lost in a year.
But, I also keep my last picture from my cousin’s wedding, wearing a beautiful little black dress and stilettos, as a trophy, an assurance that all my efforts were not in vain, that beauty regards your eating habits and it reflects your lifestyle.
5. Sign up for a lot of diet clubs
There is nothing more rewarding and motivating than sharing the inspirational experiences with people that need help to improve their lifestyle. Moderating groups, sharing healthy diets, participating in annual dieting events, in fitness events or enrolling in conventions can also help you keep your mind and spirit healthy as well. Helping others, you also remind yourself about how much you’ve worked to reach your goals.
So, tell me, how do you keep yourself motivated? Share some thoughts with us. Someone out there really needs an extra boost to go on!
