When it comes to losing weight, most people get fooled not only by diet myths but also the ones that involve fitness routines.
Most of them are wrong.
Just because your friend told you that a certain physical exercise doesn’t work, that doesn’t make it true.
What’s most likely is that he didn’t perform that exercise right, therefore impeding you to get all the benefits from it too.
What’s best for you is to try it for yourself or better yet, ask an expert in this matter. The gyms nowadays have lots of instructors who are there (more…)

Are you a cheese fan? I definitely am one.
I eat cheese every day and if I had to choose between giving up on meat or cheese, I would most certainly give up on meat.
Cheese is often seen as one of the healthiest foods, which is why people think they could consume as much as they want of it.
After all, it’s only cheese, right? Sure, cheese is mostly healthy and is vital for our diet, because it’s high in calcium, vitamin B, minerals; it promotes the absorption of nutrients in our bodies, it keeps out teeth and bones (more…)

We are all looking for the perfect diet that can help us lose weight, shed off the unwanted extra pounds and help us stay fit after we’ve reached our goals.
There are two ways of dieting from which you can choose: either you go on a diet that tells you exactly what to eat everyday, which I personally find rather extreme and potentially dangerous, or you can create your own diet, by following certain advice or tips from specialists in this matter.
If you choose the second way, then here are a few of the worst and (more…)

We are not forever young, at least not physically.
With years we become more prone to losing muscles mass, gaining weight, especially abdominal fat in the case of women who’ve reached menopause.
Health problems also occur, mostly because people don’t work out as much as they used to when they were younger.
Sure, you don’t have the same strength but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t work out at all. Don’t let age intimidate you. Lighter exercises can (more…)

We all know that avocado is a healthy fruit which contains essential fatty acids, a lot of vitamins and minerals.
It can help improve your blood pressure and lower your cholesterol.
So the first time I bought an avocado from a supermarket I was quite surprised to notice that it didn’t taste much like a fruit, but more like a vegetable.
However, since I haven’t tried an avocado before, my first mistake was to try eating it when it wasn’t ripened. So if you buy an avocado that is hard, leave it at least 2 days, at room temperature, before eating it; it should be (more…)

The most common excuse that people use for lack of activity is the fact that they don’t have time for that.
Their schedules are too tight, they have to work at home as well, and if you also add kids to raise and a household to keep, than they definitely won’t have too much time left for themselves.
However, one thing we all have in common is the weekend.
I know most people see it as a way of relaxing or having fun. Sport can do all that for you and even more. You can exercise, stay fit and lose weight (more…)

I’ve heard a lot about this diet but I never knew what it stands for: Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension.
I was quite surprised to find out, when reading about it, that I was already following most of its principles.
Although this diet was originally created for people with this health issue, it’s a proven fact that you can also use it for losing the extra pounds.
Since it is based on healthy eating, it can be followed by anyone (more…)

Drinking coffee is probably one of the best ways to start the day for many people.
The majority of regular coffee drinkers, including my friends, say that it’s a way of keeping them alert and functioning for the rest of the day.
I myself am a regular coffee drinker. I can definitely say that coffee it one of the things I could never give up.
I could spend endless hours just drinking and savoring it.
As we know from a previous article, coffee can have numerous health benefits, but also side-effects when it is consumed in excessive amounts. But besides these, I’ve heard many people say that coffee can also help you lose (more…)

It’s spring already and we hear more and more about the famous detoxification diet.
Most of my friends are already following it and they’re also encouraging me to do so by telling me how great they feel.
But should we be on such a diet, just because winter ended and we presumably didn’t eat so healthy during this season?
Sure, the variety of fruits and vegetables is not very large during winter, but does this imply that we ate mainly heavy and unhealthy foods? Therefore is it a must to go on such a diet?
As I’ve explained in a previous article, when talking about (more…)

As I’ve told you in a previous article, I’m currently on a personalized diet, which combines counting calories and physical exercise.
One of the most important principles I’m following is: never skip breakfast and no eating after 7 p.m.
Since I have a busy schedule, I usually wake up early and go to bed early, so my last meal is around 6.30-6.45.
A few of my friends criticized me, telling me that if they did this, they would wake up extremely hungry in the morning. What they don’t know is (more…)
