You’ve been told or heard that organic foods are healthier for the environment but are they healthier for our bodies as well?
Why are they believed to be safer than conventional foods?
And first of all, what does organic food actually mean?
This type of food can be found in almost every supermarket. Products are labeled as 100% organic, organic (at least 95%), made with organic ingredients (at least 70%). The higher the percentage, the higher the price is too.

Stevia is a plant from the sunflower family (Asteraceae) and it is originary from the subtropical and tropical regions in South and North America.
Most commonly known as sweet leaf or sugar leaf, this plant is a natural sugar substitute, mostly grown for its sweetness.
Stevia is 300 times sweeter than sugar, but has no calories and has a negligible effect on blood glucose. Its sweet taste is given by its chemical compounds: steviosides and rebaudiosides.

Umami is also a basic taste.
It is in fact the fifth and it was discovered in 1908 by a Japanese chemist Kikunae Ikeda, which also patented the mass-production of monosodium glutamate (MSG), the most famous and controversial enhancer in the world.
