Bacon SandwichScientists at Leeds University in England have created a scientific formula for making the perfect bacon sandwich based on numerous variables.

Researchers spent more than 1,000 hours testing 700 variants on bacon sandwiches. Some of the volunteer tasters sampled up to six variations of bacon sandwiches a day for three or four days, with such elements as thickness of bacon and bread, fattiness of the bacon, crispiness, cooking method and other factors altered. Ribs BarbecuePeople watching the Super Bowl who saw how much they had already eaten – in this case, leftover chicken-wing bones – ate 27 % less than people who had no such environmental cues, finds a new Cornell study.

The difference between the two groups — those eating at a table where leftover bones accumulated compared with those whose leftovers were removed — was greater for men than for women. (more…)

The Fries That Last Forever

| Category: Nutrition, Strange Diets | 0 Comments

McDonald's FriesThis video it’s made by Morgan Spurlock of “Supersize Me!”,

You should always try to buy fresh products from the grocery store. Don’t buy Cheerios, corn flakes, canned foods, candies or any of the other foods that would still be good after a long period of time. The longer the time that food is guaranteed to be good, the unhealthy the product is.

If you cannot buy fresh food and you cannot keep away from junk food, at least you should try to avoid McDonald’s French fries. Watch this and be shocked! (more…)

The Fruit Ring

| Category: Steaming diets, Strange Diets | 0 Comments

The Fruit Ring“The Ring” is an unusual fruit bowl made of porcelain designed by Joung Myung Lee from Germany. It is not placed on a dining table, but hangs on the wall. The concept is between art and design. Just hang it on an accessible wall and fill the bowl with your favorite fruits.

The openings on the top and bottom will help you reach the fruit, while the openings on the sides will help you know the level of fruits remaining in the bowl. The best part about this fruit bowl is that it helps you save a lot of space, especially if you have a small kitchen like I do.

The ring is an useful design object, shape and openings are a new and (more…)

Diet PiggyAre you trying to lose weight this year, or at least to cut back on snacking? Do you find yourself too often in the kitchen checking “what’s new” in the fridge or in the cupboard? One easy way to stay away from the kitchen is to keep yourself busy.

The flavor spray diet

| Category: Motivation, Nutrition, Recipes, Strange Diets, Weight loss | 0 Comments

The Flavour SprayAt first, when I saw The Flavor Spray I said “this is hilarious!”, but the more I think about it, the more I like it! The flavor spray “contain zero calories, zero fat, zero cholesterol, zero carbohydrates and FDA-approved Food flavoring” how they say.

When I’m on diet I always crave for all the bad aliments and this could be the key to overcome them, but I wonder how would a green salad with chocolate flavor taste like? It’s great that you could add smoked bacon flavor on steamed vegetables and stay thin, but I think is hard to find a basic aliment to spray on the desert flavors and still have low calories.

I think it’s worth trying it though, as it costs only $5.95/spray of 2.0fl.oz./60ml and you can get a discount for special packages. Unfortunately, they have limited countries they deliver.
