Let’s be honest: it does sound great!
After all, most diets keep you away from any sweet treats if you want to have the best results and most of us want the best results without giving up sweets!
A little bit of a contradiction there is, don’t you think so?
However, when it is scientifically proved it is hard to have doubts.
One of the latest studies signed by researchers from Tel Aviv University sustains that eating something sweet at breakfast will help you fight cravings and, thus losing weight. At the study participates 200 obese adults, all of them non-diabetic.
Basically, scientists compared two diets based on the same amount of calories- 1.400 calories for women and 1.600 calories for men. The only difference between these two diets was that one was based on a large meal during the day while the other set the rule of a large breakfast with dessert.
The study aimed to see how these groups manage weight loss and which of these two are more efficient. The “Dessert breakfast” contained a 60g dessert while the “Low-cal breakfast” only 10g. This was the major difference between the two diets.
Even though, the research started well for both groups changes in weight were observed after a few months. During the last months of the survey, it was noticed the following: participants that consumed a small breakfast started to regain some pounds while the other group kept on losing weight.
The study underlines that the goal of any diet is not only to reduce weight but, also to reduce cravings and to prevent gaining weight again. The participants who started their day with a doughnuts or sweet pancakes, for example, didn’t feel like eating many snacks throughout the day. Also, they sustained to feel less hunger in comparison with the other group.
So, as you can see, know it is scientifically proved that a doughnut in the morning actually does us good! Who would have said that it is possible to lose weight this way?
