Beach Exercise Workout

Summer timeSummer…the season of relaxation, the season of refreshing cocktails and long walks on the beach…

Since I mentioned the beach, what would you say about changing the beach plan a little bit?

How about some nice ideas for a morning beach workout?

To be completely honest, I was pretty reluctant in the beginning…to go to the beach and workout?

Not to simply lie down on the hot sand and have a good tanning session? Hmm, it all sounds very strange, especially if you associate the beach with total relaxation!

However, thinking more about the subject I realised that beach fitness can actually be a lot, a lot of fun. That is why I want to share with you some interesting ideas on how I learned that beach workout is perfect for any summer day:

Water-run your energy away!

Running can be fun anyway but image running on the fresh sand in the morning, with a little bit of breeze! You can do more than that: run not only on the sand but also in the water. It’s refreshing and fun.

Not to mention that working out in the morning, under the sun has healthy benefits: it increases the production of vitamin C. Try to run between half an hour and one hour, depending on your resistance, and you will feel, for sure, more energetic.

Hop the waves!

Find a shallow, hidden side of the beach. Get into the water but not that far away. The level of the water should be a little bit over the knees. Face the ocean/the sea and jump over the waves for 3 minutes then take a short break of 30 seconds. Repeat for 3 times then turn on both sides and repeat the entire set. It’s very simple and efficient!

Swim towards the horizon!

Well, it is obvious that swimming is the first sport that comes to mind when talking about the beach. So, establish a destination point somewhere in the water and go for it!
Try some simple exercises! The sand can be the perfect background for exercises such as sit-ups, squats, push-ups, lunges or dips. You don’t need any equipment and you can personalise the number of exercises and the time of execution.

Take a long walk!

It doesn’t matter if you go for a walk in the morning or at sunset: it is is still a good idea! Combine the romanticism of the beach with the healthy benefits of walking. You should walk at least half an hour, keeping a good pace.

The beach is an open space you should take advantage of. After all, working out is not a job so you should have no time off. Why take a break when summer sports are so much fun?
