We could all use from time to time someone to tell us that we are too lazy.
Even though we know that working out and moving in general is the best way to lose weight, we try to trick our routine or simply forget that this is not the time to spend countless hours in front of the computer.
So, a lazy alarm sounds just fantastic!
This is a device used as a weight management system. What it does is track how much energy you consume each moment. It is connected to an online monitoring service. This way the user can track how many calories he needs to burn according to how many calories he ingested that day. Even though things sound a little bit complicated they are actually very easy.
How is the energy consumption monitored?
This is done with the help of an omni-directional accelerometer. This accelerometer measures not only the duration of the physical activity but also its intensity to establish accurately just how many calories you are burning.
How is progress monitored?
The alarm points out when the user has to start working out, but with the help of the online tracking system the user can get a feedback on his progress. Moreover, he can go back and see when he didn’t burn enough calories and what determined this.
How does is actually work?
The device is so small that it can be clipped onto the pants in the waist area. You will also need to download the activity at the end of the day to see exactly how many calories you burned. This way you will also get the chance to see when you were most active and when you were lazy.
The device has a ‘Halo Light Bar’ which tells you what is the percentage of the caloric burn goal achieved by that moment. If the bar is red you have only burned 25 percent, if it is orange the percentage is 50, when it turns yellow it means you have already burned 75 percent and when it is blue it means you have completely achieved your caloric burn goal for the day.
What I loved the most about this device it that it actually warns you when you haven’t been moving for a while. Since being sedentary equals being unhealthy or overweight there has been too much time since you last worked out. It actually buzzes you five minutes before the metabolism drops out. Believe it or not, it really works and people start moving when they hear the buzz.
This gadget has many of the qualities of a pedometer, but the lazy buzz is the piece that was missing and that makes all the difference. So, if you need someone to warn you when you are being too lazy, you should get your own Gruve weight loss gadget.
