We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
It gives us the necessary energy to start a long day full of things to do.
Skipping this meal will deprive our body of essential nutrients and will cause cravings, which usually lead to unhealthy snack choices.
Though many of us are aware of the multiple benefits of having breakfast, a reduced number of people actually make this meal a part of their day.
We are either too busy in the morning or simply cannot put anything in our mouth because we do not feel hungry. However, all these can change if you adopt this tasty, easy-to-prepare breakfast ideas.
This is the perfect choice for a perfect morning. Put some skimmed or semi-skimmed milk in a bowl. Then, add some low-calorie muesli or high fibre cereals. To enrich the taste add some dried fruit such as apricots or raisins.
Those of you who prefer fresh fruit can slice a banana. This will give the whole meal a natural sweetness and you will resist the temptation of eating more sugar. Isn’t this delicious?
Fresh Fruit Salad
This is one of my favourite breakfast choices, whether at home or at work. I love eating fruits since they give me a boost of energy and they ensure my daily intake of vitamins and minerals. So, buy the fruits that you like, peel and slice them. Once you’re finished, place on top of the fruit salad a bio-yoghurt. Complete everything with a slice of toast and honey.
Eggs are an important source of omega-3 fatty acids and they bring significant benefits to your mental health since they reduce the risk of depression. They are also great for your heart’s health, reducing the risk of atrial fibrillation and atherosclerosis. The good news is that eggs are also low in calories (just 75 kcals if they are boiled or poached) since they contain little saturated fat. This is what makes them a great breakfast choice.
Dice a hardboiled egg and combine it with the half of an avocado (mashed). Add a tablespoon of low fat mayonnaise. Mix everything in a bowl and season with salt and pepper to taste. The paste can be served in between 2 slices of toasted wholemeal bread. The result is a nutritious and palatable breakfast.
I hope that these appetizing meal ideas will stimulate you to consume a good, hearty breakfast that will help your body get ready for an active day.
