How To Tell Which Is Good Fat And Which Is Bad Fat?

Olive oil bottleMost people think that if they want to lose weight they need to eliminate all the fats from their diet.

WRONG! There is nothing more wrong than this misconception.

The human body needs to be fed with foods belonging to all groups of aliments and this way, introduce all types of vitamins, nutrients, macronutrients and minerals.

Fats have their role in the good functioning of the body. The secret is to knowhow to tell which ones are good and which ones are bad. And believe it or not, there are many good fats that are mandatory for our health. They help the metabolism and the other functions of the body.

Take for example Omega 3. This is a fatty acid that is essential to avoid many health problems but also to treat many diseases. It can help get rid of joint pains, become more flexible, deal with heart problems and high blood pressure, fight against acne and so on. Without it our body might not find the strength to handle all these.

One of the most important things that people are not usually aware of is the fact that introducing good fats in the alimentation can actually help eliminate the bad ones.

Trick to tell the difference between to two types of fats:

The easiest way to see whether the fats are saturated or unsaturated is to check their consistency. If the fat has a buttery, solid consistence when at room temperature, it means it is not healthy for you. If the consistency is oily, like in the case of the vegetable oil, then it is safe to eat the fats.

In spite of that trick, that promotes mostly vegetable fats, there is a type of animal origin fat that is probably one of the best for the human body: the fish fat. This can be consumed in a variety of ways:

  • As aliments. The healthiest fish flesh belongs to the salmon, anchovies, sardines, herring and mackerel.
  • Fish oil.
  • Fish oil dietary pills.

No matter how you choose to introduce healthy fats into the body, the main point is to never give them up. And make sure you always choose the good ones.
