Take Home The Restaurant’s Menu
Taking home a restaurant menu might sound like torture for some of us who are on a diet.
You might think that this way you are going to crave for all the delicious foods from the restaurant even when you are not there.
Well, apparently things are not as you might believe and this could end up being a really positive thing in your fight against extra pounds.
Why? Well, just thinking about this idea popped up two major reasons into my head. Take a look and see if you agree with me:
1. If your favorite restaurant has many unhealthy, but delicious dishes in the menu, you get the chance to alter them and turn them into healthy dietetic ones.
Most menus have the main ingredients written below the dish. Circle around those which you consider inappropriate for your diet and try to find replacements for them. Moreover, you get the chance to practice cooking at home too.
For example, instead of pork choose lean meat. Obviously some dishes are delicious only with pork, but you might be surprised by the new taste if you replace it with veal or turkey. Instead of mayonnaise go for the light version or if possible with a yogurt sauce. This will eliminate many calories without giving up on your favorite food.
2. Most of times we go to the restaurant when we are really hungry.
This is why we tend to order the unhealthiest foods that will not only satisfy our hunger but also add many calories to our diet and consequently many pounds to our weight. If you already have the menu you can decide from home what you are going to eat when you are not that hungry. Just make sure you stick to your decision and you don’t change your mind when you get at the restaurant.
I’ve already used these tricks and I have to confess they really work. Why don’t you try them too and see for yourself that taking home the restaurant menu is not such a bad idea after all?
