The Omentum or the big belly
According to MedicineNet, the Omentum is
a sheet of fat that is covered by peritoneum. The greater omentum is attached to the bottom edge of the stomach, and hangs down in front of the intestines. Its other edge is attached to the transverse colon. The lesser omentum is attached to the top edge of the stomach, and extends to the undersurface of the liver.
In other words the omentum is just the big fat belly that looks ugly on the inside as it looks on the outside!

Its only purpose is to catch and store fat. When the fat is stored in your stomach, your body has easy access to it. A healthy omentum should be lacy, transparent and thin. An unhealthy omentum is heavy with fat and looks like the one in the image.
Once the omentum is fieled with fat it is very hard to shrink your waist, because the body won’t “give up” its stored energy it worked so hard to accumulate. The best thing to do if you don’t want a beer belly is to avoid it by including a lot of fibers in your diet. Products with high amount of fibers are vegetables, fruits and whole grain products.
