I just heard about one of the newest trends among celebrities who want to lose weight: vitamin B-12 injections.
I’ve never heard about this before and I got intrigued by the way it is supposed to work.
We all know that the B vitamins are essential for our health and well being, and any deficiency in this respect can seriously affect us.
Some of the initial symptoms exhibited by those who lack vitamin B 12 may range from fatigue, depression, anxiety and a general lack of energy.
Most fad diets trigger almost the same symptoms, which is why many people cannot go on with them for a long period of time until the weight loss is complete, not to mention maintained.
Moreover, we all know that many people who feel tired or exhausted get the feeling that they are hungry. It’s the body’s way of compensating lack of sleep for example. This is why some of us tend to overeat when we should be sleeping instead.
Well, vitamin B12 injections were designed to help us feel rested when we are actually feeling tired. Moreover, with more energy than usually we could intensify our workout routine and shed pounds easier.
With the arguments above, vitamin B12 injections seem to be a great choice. Moreover, some people cannot assimilate this vitamin due to their health condition or because of some medicine. For example, acid-blocking pills are prone to inhibit the absorption of this vitamin from food. For them regular B12 intake is almost impossible which is why supplements are necessary.
So, let’s recap. What do vitamin B 12 injections help you with?
- Help you get rid of the B12 deficiency you might be suffering from
- Help you get more energy and want to go to the gym
- Help you feel happier and less depressed than before
- Can do you no wrong, because too much vitamin B12 doesn’t cause side effects
This sounds really great, but there seems to be a major problem. What if your problems are not caused by B12 deficiency? What if you have enough B12 in your body and still cannot lose weight? In this case if the injections cannot do you any harm, they cannot do you any good either. So, all you would be losing is large sums of money and time you could spend being on a healthy diet where you get your B12 vitamins from healthy foods.
