What’s wrong with hydrogenation?

Honestly, I like margarine better then butter because it can be easily spread on a toast, even if it’s kept in the refrigerator and (why not?) because it’s cheaper, but if you care for your health you should consider again; I know I am.
What is Hydrogenation?
Hydrogenation is the process of heating an oil and passing hydrogen bubbles through it. Unlike butter or virgin oil, hydrogenated oils contain high levels of trans fats. A trans fat is an otherwise normal fat acid that has been transmogrified by high-heat processing of a free oil.
Partially hydrogenated oils make you gain weight the same way that saturated fats do – by making you consume even more fat to get the the essential fat acids that your body needs. Hydrogenated fats not only that they produce disease on the long term, but they interfere with the body’s ability to ingest and use the good fats!
Picture it like this: the trans fats are the guards along the watchtower (the cell). The essential fat acids (the support troops) are waiting outside to get into the fort (the cell), so they can be distributed along the watchtower (the cell wall). But the guards won’t let them in! So they have to find someplace to stay in town. Over time, more and more troops are gathering into town. So new houses (fat cells) have to be built to keep them in. The town grows more and more swelled with troops and it gets bigger and bigger (fatter). It’s not a pretty picture at all, when you realize that the town is your belly, face or neck.
Avoiding Hydrogenation
You can protect yourself by starting to read real carefully the products labels. If you do that, you will see how many products you will find that contain partially hydrogenated oils. Even some items on the “healthy food” shelf, like protein bars, contain partially hydrogenated oils, so don’t be fooled by the “healthy food” label!

March 2007 | 06:44 hnot only partially hydrogeneted fats are prone to put on more weight on you, they are also considered carginogens because during their production those guys heat the oil to extreme tempratures to bind the extra H. they are also known to cause seizures in outer brain tissue in infants. eat butter and animal fat its far more healthier.
