Work Out At The Office

Chair ballI spend many hours at the office and when I get out from work in the evening I feel so tired that I don’t feel like going to the gym and work out for an hour.

Sounds familiar?

This is the story of many of us and it is the perfect excuse not to work out at all.

Add to that the fact that the weekend is so short to spend it not sleeping or going out with friends and you get the lazy dieter who keeps complaining about the extra pounds.

We’ve talked about some healthy office lunch options and some very interesting ways to lose weight even when we are at work, but there are many other solutions that can work great. Here are three that can be very efficient and combined with a proper diet can help you stay fit even if you cannot get to the gym that day.

1. Wall pushups

They are not as efficient as regular pushups, but they can work too when the space is limited. Unlike in the case of regular pushups you do these ones standing. All you need is a wall and a little bit of privacy.

Let’s face it, your coworkers will find it amusing if they see you ‘pushing the wall’. Take two or three steps back from the wall. After you place the palms on the walls do the same motions as if you were doing the pushups facing the ground.

2. Use an exercise ball for fabulous abs

For this type of workout you actually do not have to do anything at all. All you need is an exercise ball. Place it on the chair and sit on it instead of sitting directly on the chair. Try to stand straight and not to fall from the chair. Just doing this will strengthen your abs in no time.

3. Train your biceps, chest and shoulders with your office chair

After placing your hands on the chair arms, try to lift your body weight. If this seems too difficult place your feet on the ground at first. After a while try with only one foot on the ground. In time you will be able to do this with both feet in the air.

There are so many ways you can work out at the office that you have no excuse to sit in your chair all day long and do nothing at all to help your body. You can park your car as far as possible from the office, don’t take the elevator if your office is not at the twenties floor, go to the mail room by yourself, and so on.

Moreover, all these exercises won’t make you sweat and can be done wearing your office clothes. All it matters is to keep moving as much as you can.
